January 15, 2005 Well, you know - I'm still here. It has amazed me the patience teachers have with kids nowadays, it really does. At college, I help the girl out who I liked, but she doesn't know jack - in fact, I'm surprised she got accepted on the course a second time. She keeps asking me "Is this okay?" - and the more annoying thing? She types as if we're on the internet. Yes folks, coursework that will be marked by outsiders, and she goes "to close the window u click this and that u also do this". No sense of grammer either. But then again, so little people do have a decent grammer skills I'm impressed they passed school. It really urks me off the way people type like this, truely it does. In a text message I can just about stand it - because it's quick and short. On the internet? On message boards? In instant messengers? NO! In coursework that gets marked and can determain your future? HELL NO! Sometimes I think I'm the only one who knows proper grammer (as proper as one can be). English wasn't my favorite subject in the world - but then again, I had to listen. I wanted to do well. Did this people? Hmm, it seems harsh - because I'm sure they did, so what happened? What made these people type so profusely? Why do people go through life reading questions and the asking what it means? I mean, simple things like "Open up Word, type a few words, and close it. Take a print screen of the resulting error message". How bloody hard can that be to understand? Oh, but wait. She has a learning difficulty - as she smiles broadly, proudly showing off the fact that the reason she types like an ape is the fact she has dyslexia. Fantastic! I have dyslexia, and I know at least three other people who do, plus another one being online... do any of them type like idiots? No, in fact they all type quite well, they have nice communication skills. Does this girl? Communications skills possibly - but then again, she flirts with random guys to get what she wants. She says she's distracted by this lad in our class. Two of my friends really dislike him because of the way he acts, after spending a few weeks with the lad in class (compared to a few years my friends have), I can clearly see this lad is grossly misunderstood. He probably has attention dephicite disorder (ADD) or something similar, but it's no reason to hate the lad either. I digress a little. What was an update of my life has turned in to a major rant about this girl. Okay, I'll cut to the chase. Lee likes this girl, this girl likes Lee (lets call her 'X' from now on). X said to Lee she doesn't have a boyfriend, Lee however has heard from a myriad of sources that she has. Lee has also heard from the same sources that girl X gets around a lot. And I mean alot. Out of my male friends that I know and know her, 90% have slept with her. Yes, thats an awful lot. Especially considering the remaining 10% want too. I really dislike people like that, ones with ulterior motives, you know the kind. Say one thing, mean another - lead you by emotions and then promises of certain things that get nowhere. I'm finding her really irritating recently, and I think I finally know why. It's because she's one of them that plays games with you, more so than your av-er-age woman I mean. She doesn't make it obvious, of course - that would be too simple now wouldn't it. Just enough, the quick flick of hair there, the touching of the arm (and behind ear *melts*), fluttering of the eyebrows - and the classic "i'm vunerable" voice, when everybody knows damn well she's not. Predator? Possibly. Alien? Possibly? Predator V Alien? Now thats just being silly... |
